Linda S. Woolf Named Managing Partner of Goodell, DeVries, Leech & Dann, LLP
Baltimore, Maryland – Linda S. Woolf of Goodell, DeVries, Leech & Dann, LLP was named the firm’s Managing Partner, effective January 2005. Goodell, DeVries was founded in 1988 and has 21 partners and 30 associate lawyers. Woolf, who has been with the Baltimore-based litigation firm since its founding, is the head of the firm’s commercial litigation department. She is a member and has held leadership positions in various organizations, including the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, past Vice-Chair, Employment Practices Section; The Network of Trial Law Firms, past Chair, and the Maryland Association of Defense Counsel, past Member of the Executive Board, past Co-Chair, Appellate Committee and Judicial Selections Committee.

Mike O'Donnell and Mal Wheeler Named to Best Lawyers in America

Two attorneys at 38-attorney Wheeler Trigg Kennedy LLP have been selected for Woodward/White's The Best Lawyers in America 2005-2006 edition. Michael L. O'Donnell, Chair-Elect of the Network of Trial Law Firms, is listed among the best in "Business Litigation". Malcolm E. Wheeler, who has appeared on the list previously, was named among the best in "Personal Injury Litigation".
Mike O'Donnell is Chairman of Wheeler Trigg Kennedy. His national litigation practice focuses on complex civil litigation involving product liability, professional liability, toxic tort, class action, securities and commercial matters. He has acted as national or regional counsel for a number of Fortune 500 companies and has appeared in state and federal courts in 25 states. He is national trial counsel for CNA, Guidant and Pfizer Inc. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
Mal Wheeler's practice focuses on large and complex business litigation and product liability litigation, especially nationwide "pattern" litigation and major appeals. He has defended manufacturers at trial in several highly publicized cases, including the Pinto criminal prosecution, the first "no airbag" case tried to verdict, the first defective airbag case tried to verdict, and cases in the medical device, pharmaceutical, chemical, automotive, and appliance industries. Sandberg Phoenix & von Gontard Recognized for Defense Verdicts

Keith Phoenix and Joe Callahan were named in Missouri Lawyer's Weekly "Largest Defendant's Verdicts" of 2004 in the State of Missouri. The plaintiff in this medical malpractice case claimed he contracted an infection of the knee during a hospitalization that led to an above the knee amputation of his right leg. The plaintiffs were seeking $4 million dollars and the case resulted in a defense verdict.
Ken Bean was also named in Missouri Lawyer's Weekly with one of the top Defendant's Verdicts in a medical malpractice case involving a psychiatric patient suicide where the plaintiff demanded $1 million dollars in damages and resulted in a defense verdict.
Keith Phoenix and Chris Hoffman received one of the "Largest Settlements of 2004" designated by Missouri Lawyer's Weekly. Mr. Phoenix and Mr. Hoffman represented a minor plaintiff and plaintiff's family in a negligence - drowning incident. Plaintiff received $2.5 million in settlement.
